R9 Accelerator 3+ began with the R9 Rev Up in the last weekend of January. Entrepreneurs from the private sector and government staff had the chance to meet potential team mates, deep dive into the accelerator Opportunities, and get a taste of what participating in R9 Accelerator 3+ would be like.
More than 100 entrepreneurs attended the weekend. Result 9 Better for Business Manager Strategic Directions Linda Oliver opened the event, speaking about the unique opportunity R9 Accelerator offers government agencies, entrepreneurs from the private sector business community, NGOs and individuals.
“Tailored specifically towards public and private sector collaboration, the R9 Accelerator is a radical evolution in the way in which government solves problems. Together, we will make it easier and faster to solve major customer pain points in a fast, low-risk, cost-effective way,” Linda says.
At the end of the weekend 18 teams had formed. On Monday 13 February the teams pitched themselves and their ideas to the selection panel, which consisted of representation from R9 Accelerator partners, agencies sponsoring R9 Accelerator 3+ opportunities and Wellington start-up base and accelerator supplier Creative HQ.
R9 Accelerator teams have now been selected and consist of a collaborative mixture of public sector entrepreneurs and government intrapreneurs. We’ll be announcing who’s on which Opportunities soon as we prepare for the start of the accelerator Bootcamp on 6 March. Find out more at: http://www.r9accelerator.co.nz/
