Speaker: Tim Schurr, Director of Product & Innovation at ARANZ Geo
Tim leads a product team of several Product Managers and Product Owners at AGL. Tim loves to ski & tramp and at one point in his life moved home to New Zealand just to be close to our Southern Alps again. A father of two girls, Tim plays in three different bands, and loves volunteering and all things “community”. Tim has a real problem saying no.
Talk Title: Taking Geology to the cloud
Tim recounts the discoveries, pivots and lessons learnt as he and the team took ARANZ Geo’s latest 3D geosciences product from concept to reality. This story is centred around the development of Leapfrog Central, told from the perspective of the Product Manager filling the gap between a rockstar dev team and a bunch of enthusiastic customers.

Talk Title: Drones and New Zealand Law
The presentation will provide an non-legalise (i.e. in plain English) overview of the law pertaining to drones in New Zealand, We will consider Part 101 and 102 registrations. The business of operating and providing services through drones, is changing. This presentation will also consider practical applications which operators might put in place in order to offer enhanced business safeguards.
